What to expect
This welcoming session with Andrea Landry and Colby Tootoosis, both parents and life skills coaches, will introduce participants to the Reviving Indigenous Kinship Experience - a program they have developed and has been invited to be shared with Indigenous communities from the east coast to the west coast.
Topics introduced will include strengthening connections to children and young adults, fostering healthy relationships, conflict resolution and improving family dynamics, while supporting and preparing coming generations for a perpetual changing world. This will lead to conversations around addressing inter-generational trauma and affirming inter-generational love in the midst of on-going attempts of colonialism and oppression.
We will also be exploring how to support children and youth during stressful times, including the on-going pandemic. Especially with the struggles with school outbreaks, recent loss of loved ones, and lifestyle changes.
The liberation of the communities to our Nations lays in the liberation of our families and children. Join us as we explore proactive approaches to practical solutions to the blocks and struggles within our Indigenous kinship systems.
This is the opportunity to join a non-judgemental space which will support and affirm what many of our families are already practicing based on the principles of who we are and where we come from.
Come with an open mind and a willingness to expand in awareness for growth both personally and collectively.
